Welcome to GraduateUK.
Whether you're
a final year student, a recent graduate, or a young professional
- you've reached the right place.
We're a new
organisation here to help you as you prepare to leave University,
and in the first few years thereafter.
Life after graduation
is very different to what you've been used to at Uni - as we ourselves
have recently learnt.
Careers are
important and you have some help with this on campus, but there
are so many other things you need to get sorted and you have to
get this from many different places - family, friends, banks, television,
newspapers, magazines, books...
You need information
on all kinds of things, as well as help in choosing new products
and services you didn't need at Uni.
Sure you can
collect and evaluate it all yourself, but it takes most graduates
at least three years before they're really settled in a career,
with their own place, in a stable relationship, a good group of
new friends, etc.
Which is why
we thought we'd try and help speed up the process by launching GraduateUK
and trying to deliver in one place all the information you need
- accessible from anywhere through the internet.
The start is
this website. But we've got more than this planned and you'll hear
about all that from spring 2004. In the meantime, we know this site
needs expanding and filling up with content - but we've got that
planned - it WILL soon be here!
Think of us
as a Club, a follow-on to the NUS, a lifestyle supermarket acting
objectively with your best interests at heart.
We need your
help, though. Whatever you feel you can do would be appreciated
(click on "Feedback" or "Get Involved" above).
Whether you
can spread the message, partner with us, donate a large wad of cash
(ever hopeful!), want to moderate our discussion forum, write content
for the site, or simply visit us regularly, we hope you'll come
back soon.
